ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance
EPR is committed to ensuring the highest standards of work and we hold Quality Assurance Accreditation to ISO 9001:2015, which we rigorously maintain.
Health & Safety
EPR takes health and safety issues very seriously and our Health & Safety Policy is regularly reviewed at the highest level and with support from our external advisers Award Heath & Safety. All staff are trained to appropriate levels and Risk Assessments are standard practice. EPR Limited holds CHAS (Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme) accreditation.
Our professional staff are all qualified to at least degree level, many with relevant post graduate qualifications as ecologists, but also includes Chartered Town Planners and Environmental Assessors; giving us a crucial bridge between nature conservation and land use planning.
Our professional ecology staff are members of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), and as a Company we rigorously adhere to the professional standards and Code of Conduct set out by the Institute.
Our staff also hold numerous species licenses (including all of the major protected species), both for survey and development, so that we are able to provide a full breadth of service to our clients. In addition, the ecologists we employ in-house include experts in specialist areas of ecology such as ornithology, bryology, historical ecology and entomology; ensuring that we have a great depth of knowledge at hand to call on if required, to help solve our client’s issues.
As an ecological consultancy, it is part of our everyday business to advise clients on how they can appropriately minimise and mitigate against adverse impacts created by their proposals on the planet’s natural resources. As a company, we recognise that our own operations have an impact on the environment, and therefore have a duty to inform our daily working practices so as to minimise any adverse environmental impacts.
In order to achieve measurable and meaningful improvements in our environmental performance we have developed an Environmental Management System (EMS) which monitors, evaluates and reports on a number of Key Performance Indicators including energy, water, resource use, travel and waste. Through our EMS we set annual targets for improved environmental performance and develop an annual Target Action Plan to assist us with achieving these targets. The EPR Environmental Policy is an ongoing process that is reviewed annually as part of the internal review procedure.
In January 2016 EPR achieved Carbon Smart Gold certification. This was in recognition of our commitment to undertake practical actions to improve our environmental performance and reduce our environmental impacts.
