We are a vibrant forward-thinking team of professional ecologists and we are embarking on an exciting new phase of Company expansion.  We are looking for staff to join and develop our new office in Northwest Kent.

This is an ideal opportunity to contribute to a brand-new team, whilst having the support of an established and respected ecological consultancy that implements its own ambitious environmental initiatives.

 

We work on a range of exciting and interesting projects, including some of the largest and most ambitious sustainable housing developments in the country.  Our clients come from all areas of business, including house developers, National Health Trusts, Universities, Local Authorities, Highways Agency as well as smaller business and organisations.

The skills and experience you need for the Ecologist role are:

  • a degree in Ecology or related discipline, together with membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management;
  • experience of surveying, UK habitats and species;
  • knowledge of UK planning regulations, policy and processes;
  • ability to work collaboratively with colleagues as well as independently and to communicate effectively with a range of external stakeholders, clients and team members;
  • successful track record of delivering high quality technical work and written reports including Ecological appraisal and small sized/simple EcIA;
  • proven track record in project management of small – medium projects including managing budgets;
  • developing and maintaining relationships with clients;
  • excellent report writing skills;
  • experience of implementation of mitigation and enhancement strategies; and
  • Supporting seasonal staff and placement students.

 

In addition to the above for the Senior Ecologist role you would be expected to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • strong knowledge of UK planning regulations, policy and processes;
  • proven track record in project management of medium to large projects including managing budgets;
  • successful track record of delivering high quality technical work and written reports including EcIA and/or HRA; and
  • the ability to provide support and mentoring to junior staff.

 

A valid UK driving licence and a car (or access to a car) are essential for all positions, as is being able to prove you have the right to work in the UK.

We are looking for motivated Assistant and Field Ecologists for our new office in Northwest Kent. Work will vary, and we will provide training and support.

 

A relevant degree and ecological survey experience is essential – but if you are new to ecological consultancy then we understand this. If you have Protected species survey licences, then that would be an advantage.

A valid UK driving licence and a car (or access to a car) are essential, as is being able to prove you have the right to work in the UK.
