Freshwater fisheries and wetland habitats EPR has specific expertise in aquatic ecology and our staff have a wide experience of freshwater fish ecology, water bird and wetland biology. Staff members have been actively involved in design & build river restoration projects, pond and lake construction and the creation and management of a wide range of wetland habitats. We have special expertise in the assessment and improvement of habitat quality for fish, water birds, amphibians and for overall biodiversity. The restoration and ecological management of aggregate workings is a further area of specialised expertise. Successful projects and advice have been implemented on a wide range of rivers, streams, canals, lakes and ponds. Membership of the recent Government Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Review Group enabled technical inputs, especially on topics related to assessing and improving habitat quality, game and coarse fishery management. Consultancy, R&D projects and practical advice on all aspects of fisheries management are available. A complete design and build capability for river habitat projects is offered, together with all necessary liaison and consenting from Government agencies. Natural resource management and wild trout population management, in particular is an area of special expertise.
