About Us
EPR was founded in 1989 by Phil Colebourn and is now owned by its staff. Since its founding, EPR has expanded significantly and we now employ a team of over 35 permanent professional ecologists. We have built up an extensive portfolio of projects and have developed a reputation for finding pragmatic solutions to complex technical issues.
Our two offices in Hampshire and Kent, and regional outposts in the Midlands and West Country service projects nationwide.
Our client-focussed approach has helped us build long term relationships with our clients meaning that much of our work comes from repeat business.

Our Approach
We recognise that development is essential for solving the current housing crisis and for economic growth and we believe that development and biodiversity can, and should, be mutually beneficial.
Our expertise in both ecology and the UK planning system enables us to advise on all ecological aspects of development projects.
We have represented our clients at over 100 public inquiries, so we understand the level of scrutiny that our advice could ultimately face. This understanding informs everything that we do. Our advice is evidence-based, defensible and informed by our detailed understanding of biodiversity planning policy and legislation.
Our experts are regularly involved in shaping policy and best practice guidance on complex topics such as assessing the ecological effects of air quality and Ecological Impact Assessment. Our detailed understanding of these complex issues means we are particularly well placed to devise pragmatic solutions for our clients.
