SANG Design, Creation and Management
EPR is at the cutting edge of Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG) design and creation in the Thames Basin, Wealden, Dorset, New Forest, and Solent regions

SANGs provide additional green space to draw recreational users away from protected wildlife sites.
We have designed several bespoke SANGs that have successfully unlocked the residential development potential of our client’s sites.
EPR and our in house ecological contracting service The Natural Greenspace Team, provide the complete package of SANG services. We:
-
Design SANGs to meet the necessary design criteria
-
Consult with Natural England and other consultees to secure agreement that the SANG will work
-
Prepare costed SANG Management Plans to demonstrate how the SANG will be managed to ensure it continues to function as required
-
Create SANGs on-the-ground, including installation of paths, fences and boardwalks, habitat creation, and regulatory sign-off
-
Manage SANGs in accordance with our management plans
We also successfully incorporate significant biodiversity mitigation and enhancements into many of our SANG designs, which can maximise developable area, secure biodiversity benefits into the long term, and maximise sustainable commercial returns.
